Base station2011 design

• keep good features of the Iceland stacked version
• use Overo not Connex
  • this removes CF card and replaces with uSD
  • makes two plug Overo safer/stronger
• onboard USB hub? - decided on external for 2011
  • on-board level translator for overo port/s
    • Should all be rs232 levels, one is 3V logic for link to msp
• Uses plug-on Gumstix board Tobi with fed down to our custom power/I/O MSP430 board
• need 5V/12V peripherals and serial ports
  • linux console access: usb on Tobi
• use usb-wifi sticks for reliability and sma RF connector
  • Tobi has onboard ethernet - useful for cafe and setup
• need to power on/off peripherals completely with switches/FETs (>1A see power table)
• small cell bat to power gumstix onboard RTC on Tobi for emergencies
• easy to visualise power output status using LEDs
  • must be possible to disable LEDs to reduce power consumption when deployed.
• should accept 10-15v battery input
