Requirements dGPS: 3.6W 12V can use BatV, 300mA

GPRS: 4.2W 12V can use BatV, 350mA max, typical peaks a lot

WiFi RF amp: 2.1W 5V, needs 360-420mA max, needs measuring for average value

Overo etc: takes 5V in, about 1W 180mA

USB-serial device: 5V probably 150mA ?

power rails needed BatV - for GPS, GPRS, Access points x 2 ,

5V high power: Wifiamp, weather, probe x 2

5V beagle (controlled by MSP)

3.3V MSP (ON)

Probe(wired) power: probably 5V if we regulate at the probe end. 90mA?

so main users are the RF Amp and the GPRS when used

Overall gumstix running 2.79W (12.62v, 0.221A)

gumstix off 0.147W (12.21v, 0.012A)

usb hub on it's own 0.679W(4.82V, 140mA)

usb serial .787W (4.98V, 158mA)

wifi stick 1.485W (4.96v, 300mA)

Access point 4.186W (11.96v, ~350mA

Energy sources Marlec 504 - tried and tested before (needs 41mm internal diameter pole and max 48mm outer diam)

and a 20W solar panel.

These will feed into the commercial regulator into a case full of batteries.
